Theodore Svenningsen

Born in Pennsylvania, Theodore Svenningsen has been interested in making and studying art since childhood. He has several academic degrees, beginning with both a BA and an MA in philosophy from the University of California, Los Angeles. Also at UCLA, he was advanced to doctoral candidacy with a dissertation titled “The Concept of Beauty in Art Theory.” He dropped out of the doctoral program in order to devote himself to painting and thereafter received his MFA from Otis College of Art and Design.
